Privacy Policy
Tandem Fund, Inc. (“Tandem,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, process, retain, and disclose personal data about you when providing service through our website at ‘www.tndm.org’ (our “Site”) and our practices for using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
1. The Personal Information We Collect
“Personal Information” is any information that enables us to identify you, directly or indirectly, by reference to any identifiers such as your name, Internet protocol or IP address, location data, online identifier, or any other factors that allow identification of individuals, including references drawn from any personal identification to create a profile about an individual reflecting the individual’s preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes.
We may collect and process the following Personal Information that you supply to us when you register a user account or create a user profile; make a purchase or a donation; sign up to receive newsletters, updates, and promotional material related to Tandem’s mission; register for an event; and/or contact us:

Name, address (such as home address, work address, or other address) email address, phone number, username, and other contact information you provide us - Payment Information:
If you make a purchase or donation offered through the Site, we collect your identifiers such as your name and billing address. We also collect your financial information to facilitate your payment. Payment information, such as credit or debit card numbers, cardholder’s name, card expiration date and security code), is processed by reputable independent third-party service providers and is not collected from within the Site. Please visit those third-party service providers’ sites for information about their privacy policies, over which we have no control nor responsibility. - Account History Information
Information about your user account (if any) and donations. We may enable you to post public comments in connection with a donation and with which you may associate with your name, which we may moderate and use in our own communications. - Demographic Information:

With regard to each of your visits to the Site we will automatically collect the following information, subject to our cookie notice below:

We may use such information for various purposes in support of our nonprofit mission such as providing user services, fraud prevention, research, and improving our Site. Please check your web browser if you want to learn what information your browser sends or how to change your settings.
We may also collect and process information about your interactions with us, including about our contacts with you through email, U.S. Post, on the phone or in person (i.e., the date, time, and method of contact), details about donations you make to us, events or activities that you register for or attend and any other support you provide to us. We may also collect and record any other relevant information you share with us about yourself, including your interests or your affiliations with other charities, community groups, your employer or a Tandem corporate partner.
2. How we use your Personal Information
Personal Information you provide to us.
We use information that you provided to us, including Personal Information, to:
- Fulfill our obligations arising from your membership, partnership, or sponsorship, application, or any other contract entered into between you and us and to provide you with the information, products, and services that you request from us;
- provide you with information about our work or our activities;
- fundraise in accordance with our internal policies and procedures;
- organize events that you have registered for, and to provide you with information, and other materials, relating to the content of the event, the speakers, sponsors and other attendees;
- provide our newsletters and publications, provided you continue to give your consent;
- respond to your questions and provide related services;
- provide you with information about other events, products and services we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or attended, provided you have not opted out of receiving that information;
- tailor promotional materials related to our nonprofit mission that is presented to you on the Internet according to your interests, preferences and other characteristics (as described below);
- respond to applications for employment or volunteering;
- transfer your information as part of a merger or sale of the business;
- ensure that content from our Site is presented most effectively for you and your device;
- in any other way we may describe when you provide the information;
- for any other purpose with your consent; and
- Where we are required by law to disclose or otherwise use your information.
Personal Information we collect about you.
We use Personal Information that we collect about you:
- to administer our Site and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes;
- as part of our efforts to keep our Site safe and secure; and
- to measure or understand the effectiveness of advertising we serve to you and others, and to deliver relevant advertising to you, where appropriate and applicable.
3. Sharing of your Personal Information
We use third parties to process donations, purchases, employment applications, and other information collection. When we identify such third parties, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of such third parties as each has its own unique privacy policy, separate and distinct from ours.
We do not disclose personal information other than as described in this Privacy Policy. Users can always refuse to supply personal information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site-related activities.
We will not rent, sell, or otherwise exchange for value personal information to anyone.
Other than to its employees, affiliates, and service providers, as described above, we disclose personal information only:
- in response to a legal obligation, such as a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request,
- in good faith and as reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Tandem, third parties, or the public at large,
- to prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Tandem,
- to protect the personal safety of users of the Tendem, and/or to protect against legal liability.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track user activity on the Site. A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a user’s computer, and that the user’s browser provides to the website each time the user returns.
We use cookies to help us identify and track users, their usage of the Site, and their Site preferences. Users who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using the Site, with the drawback that certain features of the Site may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate or analyze the Site. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and not for their own purposes. They are obligated not to disclose or use Personal Information for any other purpose.
We use website analytics tools, including Google Analytics, which is a service that tracks and reports Site traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of the Site. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. You can opt-out of having your activity on the Site available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity. 5. No Personal Information of Children
We do not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Information from anyone under the age of 18 or knowingly allow such persons to provide us with their Personal Information without verifiable parent or guardian consent. If you are under 18, do not send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone numbers, or email address, unless you have your parent’s or guardian’s permission. In the event we learn that we collected Personal Information from anyone under the age of 18, and do not have a parent or guardian’s consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
In accordance with certain state laws, where applicable, minors under the age of 18 or their parents or guardians may remove or request and obtain removal of content and information that they post on the Site.

6. Your Rights

If or when such jurisdiction-specific privacy rights become applicable to the Services, we will provide any required notices under such laws either directly in communications with you or in this section.
7. Correcting Your Information
You may request to correct or amend the Personal Information maintained by Tandem by contacting: team@tndm.org. To protect your privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections. Prior to being given any information, callers will be asked cross-referenced questions, i.e., full name, address, phone number, and, if applicable, credit card expiration date, in order to verify their identity and protect the privacy of Tandem’s donors.
8. Links to Other Sites
The Site may from time to time contain links to other websites. Tandem is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these linked websites. When you navigate away from our Site to the websites of such third parties, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of those websites.
9. Our Commitment to Data Security
Tandem securely stores Personal Information and permits access strictly on an as-needed basis. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, Tandem maintains appropriate technical, organizational, and physical safeguards. Our third-party payment processors process financial transactions securely using the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, including encrypting transactions to provide an additional layer of security.
10. Changes to our Privacy Policy
In the event that Tandem changes its Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on our website so that users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. Any changes will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Privacy Policy. We will use Personal Information only in the manner described in the Privacy Policy in effect when the information was collected from you.
